| Reverse description | Detailed high-relief depiction of the Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi) in Rome, faithfully reproducing the monumental Baroque facade designed by Nicola Salvi. The central figure of Oceanus stands triumphant on a shell-shaped chariot drawn by winged sea-horses and Tritons, flanked by allegorical statues of Abundance and Salubrity in the lateral niches. The grand triumphal arch architecture with Corinthian pilasters, attic storey inscriptions, and sculptural groups fills the entire rectangular field. Two winged putti or angelic figures appear at the upper corners of the composition, and the lower foreground depicts the rocky basin with cascading waters populated by additional figural groups. |
