| Description du revers | Detailed high-relief depiction of the Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi) in Rome, rendered in fine sculptural style across the rectangular field. The facade of the Palazzo Poli forms the architectural backdrop, featuring a triumphal arch flanked by Corinthian columns and allegorical sculptural groups. The central figure of Oceanus commands a shell-shaped chariot drawn by sea horses, with tritons in attendance. Papal heraldic arms of Pope Clement XII, who commissioned the fountain, appear prominently at the upper center of the composition, flanked by winged figures. Latin inscriptions referencing the dedication of the fountain are visible across the upper registers of the design. |
