Serbia has issued Tesla-themed commemoratives with some regularity, but this 2024 entry marks the centenary of the Nikola Tesla Museum's founding in Belgrade — an institution that holds the largest collection of Tesla's original documents and personal effects, transferred from New York following his death in the Hotel New Yorker in 1943. The hydroelectric angle is historically grounded: Tesla's polyphase AC system, demonstrated commercially at Niagara Falls in 1895, was the direct technical ancestor of every large-scale hydroelectric installation that followed.
