100 Dinara Kazneno popravni dom, Stara Gradiška

Stara Gradiška was a prison camp of particular brutality during the Second World War — part of the Jasenovac complex under the Ustasha regime — but by 1986 it functioned as a Yugoslav federal correctional institution. This note is a form of internal scrip, issued by the facility itself for use within the prison economy. Such institutional money circulated among inmates and allowed the administration to control purchasing without introducing Yugoslav dinars into the facility.

Prison scrip from Yugoslav correctional institutions is rarely documented in mainstream catalogs. Most was destroyed or discarded on release.
