Pattern issues from the National Bank of Macedonia are rarely documented with meaningful production context, and this one is no exception. What is known: Dame Gruev was a founding leader of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization, instrumental in organizing the Ilinden Uprising of August 1903 — exactly a century before this coin's striking. The centennial almost certainly drove the commemorative impulse here.
As a pattern, KM#Pn5 never entered circulation and was almost certainly produced in minimal quantities for official presentation or archival purposes.
