| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a bold, large numeral 100 dominating the central field, with the word CRUZEIROS inscribed in prominent block letters along the lower arc and the date 1985 at the bottom. The word BRASIL curves along the upper border in large block lettering, with the designation PROVA (meaning 'proof' or 'pattern' in Portuguese) appearing in smaller characters below it in the upper field. The design is framed by a beaded border following the coin's circumference, giving the overall layout a clean, modern typographic character appropriate to its status as an official mint trial piece. |

Prova pieces from the Casa da Moeda do Brasil in this period were struck as internal production trials ahead of circulating issue approval — not distributed through normal channels and never intended for public hands. Brazil in 1985 was in the final stretch of military rule, with the Sarney civilian government taking power in March of that year amid the Diretas Já movement's failed push for direct presidential elections. Currency reform was already looming; the cruzeiro would be replaced by the cruzado in February 1986, making this a trial piece for a denomination that had almost no time left.
