Obverse description Aged, bare-headed right-facing effigy of Emperor Francis Joseph I, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and side-whiskers characteristic of the monarch's later years. The truncation is broad and unadorned, occupying the lower third of the field. A beaded border frames the design, with the circumferential Latin legend reading continuously around the periphery. The portrait displays the hallmarks of Rudolf Marschall's medallic style, with naturalistic modeling and strong definition of facial features.
