附加信息	Issued under the Somoza dictatorship in the mid-1970s, this coin belongs to a wave of commemorative silver issues that Nicaragua produced during that decade — many of them tied to international events with tenuous local relevance, minted largely for the collector export market rather than domestic circulation. The "Thanks to the World" theme referenced foreign aid received following the catastrophic 1972 Managua earthquake, which killed an estimated 10,000 people and leveled much of the capital. Much of that international aid was subsequently alleged to have been diverted by Somoza's government, a scandal that accelerated popular support for the Sandinista movement.
