Reverse description Central square hole flanked by two Manchu script characters reading 'Boo-yuwan' (ᠪᠣᠣ ᠶᡠᠸᠠᠨ), one on each side of the perforation and oriented vertically. Above the central hole appears the Chinese character 當 (dang, meaning 'equivalent to') and below the hole the Chinese character 百 (bai, meaning 'one hundred'), together indicating the coin's denomination of 100 cash. The legends are rendered in crisp, raised relief against a plain field, enclosed within a raised inner and outer rim.
