The characters are rendered in a vigorous, slightly irregular hand consistent with rebel-state production of the An Lushan period. A plain raised rim encircles the outer edge, and a raised square rim borders the central hole. The field surfaces show casting texture typical of mid-8th century Chinese bronze coinage. |
