Obverse description Cast bronze cash coin featuring four bold clerical-script characters arranged in cruciform fashion around a central square perforation, read clockwise from the top: 順 (Shun), 天 (Tian), 元 (Yuan), 寶 (Bao). The characters are rendered in a vigorous, slightly irregular hand consistent with rebel-state production of the An Lushan period. A plain raised rim encircles the outer edge, and a raised square rim borders the central hole. The field surfaces show casting texture typical of mid-8th century Chinese bronze coinage.
