| Obverse description | Central field bears the single Chinese character '川' (Chuan, denoting Szechuan) within a raised circular border, itself enclosed within a stylized four-petaled foliate or cloud-scroll decorative frame. Surrounding this central motif, Chinese characters in regular script are arranged in a circular legend reading from right to left: the upper arc bears the date and issuing authority inscription '中華民國十九年邊鑄川' (Year 19 of the Republic of China, cast at the Szechuan Border Mint), while the lower arc reads '每枚當一百文' (Each piece worth 100 Cash).
