| Obverse description | An intaglio portrait of Gabriel René Moreno, Bolivian historian and bibliographer, is positioned at right in red-brown tones over a multicolour guilloche underprint; the denomination 'CIEN BOLIVIANOS' appears in large letterpress text at centre, superimposed over an elaborate circular guilloche rosette in blue, violet, and orange.
