Beschrijving voorzijde	The obverse is printed in black and orange on white paper, with a central guilloche rosette bearing the denomination numeral 100 in bold. To the left, an intaglio portrait vignette of a woman in formal dress with pearl necklace occupies a dark oval frame. The bank title EL BANCO MERCANTIL arches across the top, with the place of issue ORURO, BOLIVIA inscribed below the central panel, and three signature lines at the foot of the note.

Beschrijving keerzijde	The reverse is printed in deep red-brown, dominated by a central landscape vignette of a Bolivian mining complex set against hills, rendered in fine intaglio line engraving. Elaborate guilloche cornerpieces with rosette and geometric lathe-work surround the central scene, with the denomination numeral 100 appearing in the left and right margins. The bank name is split across the top and bottom borders as BANCO and MERCANTIL respectively.
