Obverse description The national coat of arms of Panama occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield surmounted by an eagle with wings displayed and a scroll bearing the national motto PRO MUNDI BENEFICIO. The shield's quarters contain symbolic elements including a sword and rifle, tools representing labor, a cornucopia, and a winged wheel above a canal scene, all supported by flags on either side and flanked by nine stars above. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE PANAMA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 100 BALBOAS is prominently rendered along the lower arc. Below the arms, the fineness inscription 500/1000 ORO FINO appears in the lower field, with the Franklin Mint mark FM also present.
