| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Panama occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield surmounted by an eagle with wings displayed and a scroll bearing the national motto PRO MUNDI BENEFICIO. The shield's quarters contain symbolic elements including a sword and rifle, tools representing labor, a cornucopia, and a winged wheel above a canal scene, all supported by flags on either side and flanked by nine stars above.
