Obverse description The obverse features the national coat of arms of Panama in high relief at centre, depicting a quartered shield with a cornucopia, a winged eagle above, and crossed swords and rifle in the lower quarters, flanked by nine stars and two crossed cannons. A spread-winged Harpy Eagle surmounts the shield, and a scroll below bears the national motto PRO MUNDI BENEFICIO. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE PANAMA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 100 BALBOAS is inscribed along the lower border. The fineness mark 900/1000 ORO FINO appears in the lower field, with the Franklin Mint mintmark FM to the left.
