Reverse description The reverse presents a cruciform composition inspired by pre-Columbian Coclé goldwork, divided into four quadrants by a central cross whose horizontal band is filled with an interlaced scrollwork frieze. Each of the four quadrants contains a stylised zoomorphic bird figure rendered in the characteristic curvilinear Coclé artistic tradition, with elongated bodies, detailed feathering indicated by incised lines, and scrolled tail and head elements. The entire design is enclosed within a raised beaded border. The date 1983 is incised in the lower exergual area, flanked by small bullet stops.
