Obverse description Conjoined busts of King Rama V (Chulalongkorn) and King Rama IX (Bhumibol Adulyadej) facing slightly right, both attired in ornate royal ceremonial dress. King Rama V appears at left with a beaded necklace, while King Rama IX at right wears spectacles and elaborately embroidered regalia. A royal Garuda emblem is positioned at the top center of the field between the two legends. Thai script legends flanking the busts identify each monarch: 'รัชกาลที่ ๕' (Reign the Fifth) to the left and 'รัชกาลที่ ๙' (Reign the Ninth) to the right.
