正面铭文 BANCO DE ANGOLA
(Translation: Bank of Angola)
背面描述 Central intaglio vignette illustrating a colonial encounter scene: a European explorer in 18th-century dress presents documents to a group of African figures, with a riverside construction scene and sailing vessel visible in the background to the right. An oval blank cartouche occupies the right portion of the note, flanked by the denomination numeral '100' in each corner, with the value inscription set within a decorative panel at the lower centre.

备注

The Banco de Angola's 1946 series was issued under Portuguese colonial administration at a moment when Angola's export economy — primarily diamonds and coffee — was generating enough revenue to justify a substantial currency update. Thomas De La Rue handled the printing, as they did for the bulk of Portuguese colonial paper throughout the mid-twentieth century, and the quality of the intaglio work on this series is consistently finer than on earlier Angolan issues.

P#81 sits toward the higher end of the 1946 denomination range, meaning circulated survivors show heavier wear concentrated along the vertical fold lines — a reliable indicator of how these notes were folded and pocketed in daily trade use in Luanda and the coastal markets.
