Описание оборотной стороны The Mirzo Ulugʻbek Observatory in Samarkand occupies the central vignette, rendered in fine intaglio line work against a guilloche underprint. A cartographic outline of Uzbekistan appears alongside a double arc quadrant, an instrument emblematic of Ulugʻbek's astronomical achievements. The denomination and statutory counterfeiting warning are inscribed in Uzbek Latin script, set within a structured border of geometric and floral guilloche patterns.

When Uzbekistan introduced this 100,000 soʻm note in 2019, it was by far the highest denomination the country had ever issued — a direct consequence of the sweeping currency liberalization reforms initiated under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev after 2017, which ended decades of artificially pegged exchange rates and forced the official rate to collapse toward the black market reality. The soʻm lost roughly half its value almost overnight following the September 2017 decontrols, compressing purchasing power sharply enough that even the previously top-denomination 50,000 note became inadequate for routine transactions within two years.

Printed domestically at GPO Davlat Belgisi — the state security printing works established in Tashkent in 1995 — rather than contracted abroad, which had been common practice for many post-Soviet states building early monetary infrastructure.
