Vereinigung Breslauer Arbeitgeberverbände was not a bank — it was an employers' federation, one of hundreds of private industrial and commercial bodies across Germany that were legally permitted to issue notgeld during the hyperinflation of 1923 when the Reichsbank simply could not supply enough currency to pay wages. This note exists because workers needed to be paid, often daily, in denominations that kept pace with a collapsing exchange rate. At 100,000 Mark, it would have been a substantial denomination in early 1923 and almost worthless by autumn.
Krahmer & Minuth operated as a local Breslau printing firm, not a specialist security printer, which is typical for employer-issued notgeld of this period.
