Opmerkingen

Mittweida was a mid-sized Saxon textile town, and its municipal savings bank — like hundreds of similar institutions across Germany in 1923 — was authorized to issue emergency currency (Notgeld) as the Reichsbank's hyperinflationary spiral made centrally issued notes functionally useless within weeks of printing. The 100,000 Mark denomination places this note squarely in the summer 1923 phase, before the collapse accelerated into the billions and trillions that autumn.

Städtische Sparkasse issues from smaller Saxon municipalities tend to be less documented than those from major cities, and survival rates vary sharply depending on whether local collectors preserved them at the time.
