| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in dark green on pale paper, the obverse carries a bold Gothic-script heading reading 'Gutschein über Hunderttausend Mark' within a ruled border at the top. The central vignette presents a left-facing profile bust of Mercury wearing a winged petasus helmet, set against a strongly stylised background of undulating horizontal lines suggestive of industrial smoke or atmospheric waves; to the right, a row of schematic factory chimneys reinforces the commercial-industrial theme. Below the vignette, two blocks of Gothic text state the issuing authority and redemption conditions, followed by the place and date 'M. Gladbach / 3. Juli 1923', two manuscript signatures, a circular Handelskammer stamp at lower left, the serial number with letter suffix, and the large numeral '100000' in bold letterpress; the printer's imprint 'SCHOTT A.G. RHEYDT' appears in small type at the foot. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse is printed entirely in dark green and relies solely on ornamental typography and guilloche work for its design. A dense guilloche underprint of interlocking oval rosettes covers the entire field, enclosed within a broad decorative border composed of repeating concentric oval cartouches at the sides and scrollwork at the corners. At centre, a large dark rectangular panel framed by elliptical guilloche ornaments at each corner carries the white-on-dark numeral '100000' in bold italic figures. A small combined monogram device appears at the bottom centre of the panel, and the denomination '100000' is repeated in vertical letterpress along each lateral border. |

| Opmerkingen |
Mönchengladbach's Chamber of Commerce was among hundreds of regional trade bodies forced into emergency currency issuance during the hyperinflation of 1923, when the Reichsbank could not print fast enough to keep pace with collapsing purchasing power. Notgeld at this denomination reflects the mid-year acceleration — by late 1923, 100,000 Mark wouldn't cover a loaf of bread.
Schott A.G. in nearby Rheydt handled the printing, a logical choice given the proximity. The firm took on significant local government and commercial emergency currency work during the period.
