Obverse description Plain cream paper note printed in olive-green and black letterpress, set within a decorative guilloche border of interlocking geometric and floral motifs. The word GUTSCHEIN appears at the top, followed by the denomination EINHUNDERTTAUSEND MARK in large bold capitals at centre; below, a text clause states redeemability at the municipal treasury of Plauen i. V. The date Plauen, den 7. September 1923 and the issuing authority DER RAT DER STADT PLAUEN appear in the lower portion, above two manuscript signatures over the printed titles Oberbürgermeister and Stadtkämmerer.

Reverse description The reverse is printed entirely in olive-green on cream paper, with an elaborate guilloche underprint of repeating diamond and floral lattice work filling the entire field within a scalloped outer border. The large numeral 100000 is rendered in outline script across the centre of the underprint. A serial number is typeset in black at lower centre, and a small text cartouche at the very foot of the note contains the forgery-warning legend.
