| Obverse description | Single-sided letterpress printing in dark green on cream paper, framed by an elaborate guilloche border with ornamental rosette corners. The issuer's title "Stadt- und Landkreis Aachen" occupies a framed panel at the top, beneath which the serial number, issue designation "Ausg. C", and denomination "Hunderttausend Mark" are set in bold blackletter type over a large pale numeric underprint of "100 000"; a block of Gothic-script text defines the note's legal validity, followed by the date "Aachen, den 20. Juli 1923", two manuscript signatures, and flanking circular official seals of the city and the Kreisausschuss. The denomination numeral "100 000" is repeated in the bottom panel. |
