Reverse description The reverse is unprinted and shows the obverse design in mirror impression through the paper, a characteristic of single-sided Notgeld issues of the 1923 German inflation period. An orange perforated stamp or label remnant is visible at the left edge. The surface displays foxing and staining consistent with circulation wear.

Brunndöbra is a small village in the Vogtland district of Saxony, and its Gemeindekasse — the municipal treasury — issued this 100,000 Mark note during the catastrophic hyperinflation of 1923, when local authorities across Germany were printing their own emergency currency simply to meet payroll. By the time denominations reached six figures, the Reichsmark was losing value faster than notes could be printed and distributed.

This is Notgeld in its terminal phase — not the decorative collectors' pieces of 1921, but functional desperation scrip with a lifespan measured in days.
