The 100,000 Livres is the highest denomination in Lebanese circulation, introduced at a time when it represented roughly $66 — a figure that became darkly ironic after the 2019 financial collapse, when the lira lost more than 90% of its value against the dollar. Notes from later in this print run circulated in a country where ATMs dispensed stacks of them to approximate basic withdrawals, yet the purchasing power had evaporated entirely.
