| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse is printed in dark brown on a light ground and framed by a fine guilloche border with the denomination 100 repeated in each corner. The issuer's name ΤΡΑΠΕΖΑ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ appears in a cartouche at the top, below which the title ΤΑΜΕΙΑΚΟΝ ΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΙΟΝ and the agricultural purpose clause are set in letterpress. The large numeral 100,000 in bold face occupies the centre, flanked on each side by the series designation ΣΕΙΡΑ Γ', with the date EN ΑΘΗΝΑΙΣ ΤΗ 15ῃ ΜΑΪΟΥ 1943 and two manuscript signatures appearing in the lower portion. |

Greece's wartime occupation administrations required new financing instruments as the currency collapsed under Axis-enforced inflation. By mid-1943, the drachma had lost any credible store-of-value function, and the Agricultural Treasury Bonds were a fiscal mechanism layered on top of the conventional note-issuing structure — effectively state debt instruments circulating as money.
Third issue of the type. Pick 143 is frequently found with pinholes and handling folds consistent with administrative use rather than retail circulation — these passed through offices and ledger rooms, not market stalls.
