Commenti	Zimbabwe's 2006 bearer cheques were a bureaucratic workaround — the Reserve Bank lacked the legal authority under existing statute to issue banknotes of this value, so the instruments were classified as cheques, which fell under different regulatory provisions. The distinction was largely fictional in practice; they circulated exactly as banknotes. By the time P#32 entered circulation, annual inflation was already well above 1,000%. The 100,000-dollar denomination, which would have been extraordinary a year earlier, was obsolete within months of issue.
