| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse is dominated by an intricate green guilloche underprint across the entire field, at the centre of which the revalued denomination "100 000" is overprinted in large dark numerals with the final three zeros rendered in red. At lower centre, the denomination legend appears in both Latin and Cyrillic scripts. To the upper right, the bank title is inscribed in four lines in both Latin (NARODNA BANKA BOSNE I HERCEGOVINE) and Cyrillic, accompanied by a circular official ink stamp dated 24.12.93 and a manuscript Governor's signature beneath the "GUVERNER / ГУВЕРНЕР" title. At right, the original base note denomination "100" is visible in a small panel. |

Bosnia's 1993 hyperinflation was among the most severe to hit any European territory since the Second World War. The National Bank was issuing notes in denominations that would have been unthinkable two years earlier, and Cetis in Celje — a Slovenian security printer that had supplied Yugoslavia's printing needs for decades — was one of the few regional facilities still accessible to Sarajevo given the wartime disruptions to supply chains and communications.
The 100,000 Dinar denomination reflects a monetary system in freefall. Within months of this note's issue, it was rendered practically worthless by further inflation.
