Obverse description The obverse is printed in red on cream paper, framed by a decorative double border with ornamental corner squares. The title 'Gutschein' is set in large Gothic Fraktur script across the upper field above an arabesque guilloche underprint, with the denomination '100.000.000.- Mark' in bold letterpress numerals at centre and the written-out value 'Einhundert Millionen Mk.' below. To the lower left, an oval official municipality stamp of 'Gemeinde Altkloster, Kreis Stade' is applied, and to the lower right appears the manuscript signature of the Gemeindevorstand above the issuing authority title, with the date 'Altkloster, 1. Oktober 1923' and validity text in the central field.

Reverse description The reverse carries a full-width letterpress vignette in red on cream paper, enclosed within a plain double-rule border, illustrating a panoramic view of the historic monastery settlement of Altkloster with a Romanesque church, surrounding buildings, and a large tree to the right rendered in a woodcut-style line engraving. Above the vignette, four lines of Gothic Fraktur verse in red ink recount the history of the Benedictine convent and its transformation into the 'Schafmarkt' fairground.
Reverse lettering St. Benedikt zu Ehren Old-Kloster ward erbaut,
Drin wurden zarte Nonnen dem Himmel angetraut.
Einst fanden fromme Schäflein hier Frieden, Ruh und Rast, –
Jetzt pilgert hin zum 'Schafmarkt' manch lebensfroher Gast.
