Aversbeschreibung The obverse field is dominated by the monogram logo of the Czech National Bank (ČNB), partially overlapped by a depiction of the historic 1-koruna postage stamp of 1919. In the upper arc, three heraldic shields display animals drawn from the large Czech national coat-of-arms: the Czech lion centrally flanked by the Moravian eagle to the left and the Silesian eagle to the right. Below the ČNB logo, the reverse motif of the 1921 Czechoslovak 50-heller coin — two grain sheaves bound with ribbon — is rendered in relief, with linden branches extending left and right to connect the shields and sheaves in a unified circular composition. The denomination legend '100 MILIONŮ Kč' is inscribed in the lower portion of the field, while the state name 'ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA' appears in the outer circle, the words separated by asterisks. Mint marks of Metalor (a rounded triangle enclosing the letters 'mp' with the text 'ESSAYEUR FONDEUR') and Münze Österreich appear near the lower left, while the Czech Mint mark 'ČM' is positioned near the lower right.

Zusätzliche Informationen

Issued to mark the centenary of the Czechoslovak koruna, first introduced in 1919 when the newly formed republic needed to sever its monetary ties with the Austro-Hungarian krone. The transition was managed by finance minister Alois Rašín, who oversaw a rapid currency stamping operation — existing Austro-Hungarian banknotes were physically stamped and briefly circulated as Czechoslovak currency while the new coinage infrastructure was established.

At 535mm across and 130 kilograms of .9999 fine gold, this is among the largest gold coins ever struck by any sovereign mint. Only five pieces were produced.
