| Beschrijving voorzijde | The Polish state emblem — a crowned white eagle with wings displayed, set within a stylized quatrefoil medallion frame at center — occupies the central field. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 2000 and the mint mark mw at right. The denomination 10 ZŁ appears in bold characters at the lower field, below the central motif. The design integrates the heraldic eagle within a decorative architectural frame evoking Jubilee iconography. |

Poland's millennial commemoration in 2000 generated a substantial series of collector issues, of which this is one. The "Wielki Jubileusz" — Great Jubilee — framing referenced the Catholic Church's Holy Year declared by John Paul II, a deliberate theological anchor in a country where the Church's political role in dismantling communist rule remained freshly felt. The NBP leaned into that symbolism explicitly, which was itself a statement about how far Polish institutions had moved since 1989.
