| 背面描述 | The nonagonal reverse depicts a detailed architectural rendering of the main building of the Warsaw School of Economics (Szkoła Główna Handlowa w Warszawie) in the lower portion of the field, shown in a frontal elevation with fine incised detail. Rising behind the building is a large globe displaying continental outlines of Europe, Africa, and the Americas, with a historic tall-masted sailing vessel depicted in the Atlantic Ocean against the globe's surface, evoking themes of trade and commerce. The curved legend 'SZKOŁA GŁÓWNA HANDLOWA W WARSZAWIE' arcs along the left and upper periphery of the inner field. The centenary dates '1906–2006' are inscribed along the lower flat edge, commemorating the institution's hundredth anniversary. |

The Warsaw School of Economics — known in Polish as Szkoła Główna Handlowa — was founded in 1906 by economist August Zieliński, making 2006 its centennial year and the direct occasion for this issue. It is the oldest economics university in Poland, and notably one of the few Polish academic institutions that maintained a degree of operational continuity through both the Nazi occupation and the postwar communist period, though its curriculum was heavily distorted under the latter.
