Poland's interwar silver coinage was produced under genuine fiscal pressure — the country had only reconstituted its monetary system in 1924 following hyperinflation, and the Great Depression hit Polish state finances hard through the early 1930s. The 10 Złotych was the largest circulating silver denomination of the Second Republic, and mintages fluctuated sharply between 1932 and 1933 as treasury reserves contracted. The .750 fineness was a deliberate step down from earlier fine silver issues, stretching bullion further without abandoning silver entirely.
