| Obverse description | At center, the crowned heraldic eagle of the Polish Republic is rendered in high relief in the official style of the Third Polish Republic, wings spread and talons displayed. Flanking the eagle in the left and right fields, low-relief elements of a military barricade or fence evoke a wartime milieu. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs along the upper rim in Latin characters. The denomination 10 zł and the date 2020 are inscribed in the lower field beneath the eagle, with the Mint of Poland monogram 'mw' appearing discreetly at the base of the design. |

Mieczysław Dziemieszkiewicz, known by his nom de guerre "Rój" (Swarm), commanded a unit of the anti-communist underground resistance in the Białystok region well into the early 1950s — one of the last active "cursed soldiers" still fighting in the forests of northeastern Poland years after most of Europe had moved on. He was captured in 1951 and executed by the communist security apparatus in 1953. This coin belongs to NBP's long-running series rehabilitating the *żołnierze wyklęci*, figures deliberately erased from official Polish history during the Soviet-backed People's Republic period.
