背面描述 A stylised frontal effigy of King Casimir the Great (Kazimierz Wielki) seated on a throne, rendered in a medieval heraldic manner engraved by Józef Gosławski. The king is depicted wearing a crown and royal robes, holding a sceptre in his right hand and a globus cruciger in his left, with a shield bearing the Polish eagle visible at the lower left side of the throne. The word PRÓBA (trial/pattern) appears in the lower left field. The surrounding circular legend reads SZEŚĆSETLECIE UNIWERSYTETU JAGIELLOŃSKIEGO with the dates 1364 and 1964 inscribed at the base, and the name KAZIMIERZ WIELKI flanking the portrait.

附加信息

Poland's 1964 proof and trial strike program was unusually prolific — the state mint in Warsaw produced numerous compositional and design variants of proposed circulating types, many differing only in subtle positional details. This piece, distinguished by the figure's placement closer to the throne than the accepted production version, represents one of several competing proposals evaluated before the final design was locked. The Kazimierz Wielki series itself commemorated the 600th anniversary of the Jagiellonian University's founding, Kazimierz's most enduring institutional achievement.

Fischer and Parchimowicz attributions for this variant diverge slightly in their classification hierarchies, reflecting how inconsistently these trial pieces entered collector documentation.
