Obverse description The obverse of this rectangular proof strike features, in the upper left field, the denomination '10 ZŁ' rendered in bold relief, beneath a stylized row of eagle feathers forming an upper border motif. To the upper right, the crowned Polish White Eagle — the national emblem — is depicted in fine detail. At center, a 17th-century Polish winged hussar's helmet and round shield are displayed in low relief alongside a crossed lance and an axe, with a banner bearing the Maltese cross visible to the left. The legend 'RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA' appears in two lines across the lower field, with the date '2009' inscribed to the right of the eagle.
