| Aanvullende informatie |
Czarniecki is one of the few historical figures name-checked in a national anthem — the third stanza of "Mazurek Dąbrowskiego" cites him by name for his return from Italy to fight Swedish forces during the Deluge of the 1650s–60s. This coin was issued to mark the 400th anniversary of his birth, part of NBP's long-running Great Poles series that has documented military commanders with considerably more consistency than its coverage of scientists or clergy.
He never held the title of Hetman in his lifetime — that rank was granted posthumously by Sejm resolution, a distinction the coin's name carries without caveat.
