Reverse description A half-length effigy of King Sigismund II Augustus faces right, depicted in Renaissance royal attire comprising a fur-trimmed mantle, decorative chain collar, and a broad-brimmed hat. The king holds an ornate sceptre or staff with circular decorative motifs in his left hand, while a sword hilt is visible at his lower right. The legend ZYGMUNT II AUGUST arcs along the upper left periphery, and the regnal dates 1548–1572 are inscribed vertically along the right field. A mint letter mark appears in the lower exergue.
