Trial strikes in aluminium from the Polish State Mint during the mid-1930s were produced as internal working pieces to test die alignment, relief depth, and edge tooling before committing to production metals — in this case silver. The "Buckle" series was designed by Józef Aumiller, whose medallic work dominated Polish coinage between the wars. Aluminium trials survive in very small numbers precisely because they were never intended to leave the mint.
