Obverse description Centered on the obverse is the Polish state eagle displayed, with wings spread and head turned to the right, wearing a crown, rendered in high relief against a plain field. The eagle's breast bears no shield. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs around the upper periphery, while the date 1938 appears in the lower field beneath the eagle, flanked by small decorative dots. The overall design reflects the official interwar Polish republican style.

Additional information

Trial strikes in aluminium from the Polish State Mint during the mid-1930s were produced as internal working pieces to test die alignment, relief depth, and edge tooling before committing to production metals — in this case silver. The "Buckle" series was designed by Józef Aumiller, whose medallic work dominated Polish coinage between the wars. Aluminium trials survive in very small numbers precisely because they were never intended to leave the mint.
