| Obverse description | The obverse features the Polish state eagle — the crowned white eagle emblem of the Polish People's Republic — displayed prominently in the centre of the field, rendered in low relief without a crown in the socialist heraldic style. The date of issue appears flanked on either side of the eagle's lower body, with the mint mark 'MW' positioned nearby. The denomination '10' is boldly inscribed in the lower field, flanked by the currency abbreviation 'ZŁ' on each side. The circular legend around the periphery reads 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA', separated by raised dot dividers. The overall design is characteristic of the standardised coinage issued by the Polish People's Republic during this period. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a left-facing portrait bust of the celebrated Polish writer and journalist Bolesław Prus (1847–1912), rendered in refined low relief. The effigy depicts him with a moustache and short beard, dressed in a high-collared jacket, in a dignified and naturalistic style engraved by Anna Jarnuszkiewicz. The circular legend around the periphery bears the honoree's name '• BOLESŁAW • PRUS •', separated by raised dot dividers, while the years of his birth and death, '1847 - 1912', are inscribed in the lower field beneath the portrait. The design is restrained and classically composed, typical of the commemorative portrait coinage of the Polish People's Republic. |
