The 10 Złotych series of 1925 was part of Poland's broader currency stabilization effort following the catastrophic hyperinflation that had destroyed the earlier marka. Trial strikes in bronze like this piece were produced to test die geometry and relief depth before committing to the intended silver production run — they were never intended for circulation and surviving examples typically passed through official or institutional hands rather than the open market.
