背面描述 Left-facing crowned bust of King Bolesław I Chrobry (Bolesław the Brave), first King of Poland, rendered in finely detailed high relief. The monarch wears an ornate medieval crown with fleur-de-lis finials and is draped in chainmail armor visible at the truncation. The legend BOLESŁAW CHROBRY arcs along the upper left periphery, with the commemorative dates 1025·1925 inscribed along the right field, marking the 900th anniversary of his coronation. A small engraver's mark appears near the lower right of the truncation. A zigzag border frames the design near the rim.

附加信息

Poland's restoration as an independent state in 1918 prompted an urgent need to establish a credible national coinage, and the gold zloty series of the mid-1920s was a deliberate act of monetary confidence during a period of severe postwar inflation. This issue invokes Bolesław I, who died in 1025 as Poland's first crowned king — a pointed choice for a newly reconstituted republic anxious to assert historical depth.

The coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint under contract, a detail rarely noted but significant given Poland's lack of adequate domestic minting capacity at the time.
