Poland's 1970 commemorative program marked the 25th anniversary of the postwar territorial reorganization — the Recovered Territories, as Warsaw officially called them — in which Poland absorbed former German lands east of the Oder-Neisse line while simultaneously ceding its eastern Kresy regions to the Soviet Union.
