Poland's Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw — founded in 1816 — issued this coin as part of NBP's ongoing series honoring Polish cultural institutions. The oxidized silver field with applied polychrome paint was a production technique NBP had begun refining in the early 2000s, requiring hand-applied enamel-like coloring after the oxidation process rather than printed transfer, which accounts for minor color placement variation between individual pieces.
