| Reverse description | A dynamic, modernist figure of Nike, the winged goddess of victory, rendered in a bold socialist-realist style by engraver Wacław Kowalik. The allegorical figure reclines diagonally across the field, her right arm raised aloft brandishing a sword that extends horizontally across the upper portion of the coin. Her flowing hair and drapery convey a sense of movement and triumph. To the upper right, the Roman numeral date range XIII-XX denotes the centuries of Warsaw's history, and the inscription VII WIEKÓW WARSZAWY (Seven Centuries of Warsaw) appears in two lines along the lower exergue. The word PRÓBA (trial/pattern) is inscribed vertically on the left field, and the engraver's initials WK appear at the bottom centre. |
