Obverse description The obverse features the crowned Polish eagle — the state emblem of the Polish People's Republic — rendered in high relief at the centre of the field, with wings spread and head turned to the right. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA runs along the upper periphery, while the denomination ZŁ 10 ZŁ appears in the lower field beneath the eagle. The date 19 71 is split across the lower portion of the eagle's body, flanked by the mint mark MW at the very bottom. The engraver's initials WK appear in the lower field.
